Our small but efficient staff manages the various day-to-day operations at the center. Here’s what they do:

Seymour Center Director:
Julie Barrett Heffington
Manages Seymour Center education and exhibit programs, fundraising/earned-income programs, daily operations and long-term development.
Visitor Programs Manager:
Lauren Donnelly-Crocker
Develops and manages visitor education in exhibit hall and aquarium, orchestrates daily tours, programs, special visitor days, and other walk-in visitor interpretation.
Youth Programs Manager:
Suzanne Hebert
Develops, manages, and teaches K-12 and community college school programs. Oversees youth education programs including extensive day camp program, teacher/youth group leader education.
Youth Programs Educator:
Katrina Hart London
Teaches daily K-12 school programs and manages/teaches summer marine science program (Ocean Explorers Summer Camp) for K-9 children.
Exhibits Curator/Designer:
Jeff Northam
Plans and develops indoor and outdoor interpretive signage and exhibits.
Aquarium Curator:
Peter Macht
Manages all husbandry functions, including design, setup, maintenance, and care for aquarium exhibits, sea water table, wet-lab classroom, and holding tanks.
Visitor Programs Associate: Assists with management of visitor education.
Development / Events Associate: Amy Kaskowitz Implements fundraising programs including events and facility rentals.
Development Director:
Katherine Moore
Manages donor development, fundraising, special events, membership, business sponsorship, and other development programs.
Ocean Discovery Shop Manager:
Terry Wardwell
Manages/buys for gift and bookshop dedicated to enhancing the visitor experience through sale of marine science books, gifts, and apparel.
Admissions Coordinator:
Sara Stasi
Operates center admissions and information counter, schedules/registers group and specialty tours.
Administrative/Operations Manager:
Teri Sigler
Serves as primary visitor information source and manages Seymour Center administrative office and daily operations.
Graphic Designer:
Rachel Leonard
Designs materials for print or electronic media for all education, fund development and operational needs.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Leah Dowty
Coordinates approximately 200 volunteers working in all educational and fund development areas.

Three scientists share their investigations of troubling trends in our modern ocean and share their perspectives on signs of improving health.

October 18
Younger Lagoon Reserve

Join Manager Elizabeth Howard as she discusses the history of the reserve, current programs, and future plans for teaching, research, and restoration at Younger Lagoon Reserve.

October 30, 6-8 pm

Come one, come all to the Halloween Ball! Costume parade, scavenger hunts, creature crafts, flashlight tours to a whale of a skeleton, and more!

Attention Teachers!
Space is still available for K-14 marine science education programs at the Seymour Center.

You'll see a lot of construction taking place here at the Coastal Science Campus but know, the Seymour Center is open for business as usual. Come visit!
