Schools and Scholarship Fund

Group at Elk

Your generosity makes the ocean and the next generation big winners. Inspire young thinkers––change the world!

The Schools and Scholarship Fund enables the Seymour Center to provide marine science education to children year round––as well as supporting the UCSC students who mentor them.

Programs include K-12 Discovery Labs, Ocean Explorers, College Student Educators, and more!

Your gift can make all the difference for the future.

Last year:

  • 280 K-12 classrooms explored and learned at the Seymour Center; that’s more than 9,000 students, teachers, and parent chaperones.
  •  Of these, 130 classrooms came from Title 1 schools (schools with high numbers or percentages of students from at-risk or low-income families).
  • More than 1,000 of these students attended on full scholarships.
  • 10 college students guided their study and exploration.
