Green Classroom Celebration 2025
On Sunday, April 27, from 10am-2pm, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education will highlight the amazing work of local environmental changemakers!
40 teachers will share project highlights in an interactive Green Classroom “Share Fair” from 10 am–12 pm followed by an Environmental Resource Fair until 2pm. Hear about how TK–12th grade students are:
Adding green spaces to campus
Reducing waste at their school
Increasing biodiversity of ecosystems
Working toward green school certification
Reducing environmental impacts on campus
Exploring solutions for climate change
Using journaling and poetry to inspire nature connection
And many more projects!
All are welcome to join in the celebration. We will be honoring teachers who have completed the Teacher Leadership Institute for Sustainability and the Green Classroom Challenge along with schools that are part of the Santa Cruz County Green Schools Program.
Seymour Center admission is free for Santa Cruz County students and their families, classroom teachers, and school administrators who say “I’m here for the Green Classroom Celebration” at the Admissions Desk. Admission includes all-day access to the Seymour Center’s unique and interactive science exhibits, aquarium and touch tanks showcasing Monterey Bay species.
