Turtle Recon is an immersive game where you are a sea turtle entrusted with collecting data for Ocean Scientists while dodging various obstacles that float by.
Hello from the creators of Turtle Recon! Our team is comprised of six UCSC Computer Engineering Seniors who participated in the Corporate Sponsored Senior Projects Program (CSSPP) to complete our Capstone Projects. Through this program, we partnered with local non-profit See Change Now, which has been developing a video game, Island Earth Odyssey, that has players save a simulated island from environmental ruin before time runs out. For our project, we built two games that extend Island Earth Odyssey to educate people about climate change issues and solutions. Turtle Ricon will be featured at the Seymour Center and the other game is Green City Manager, which lets you play the role of city manager, allocating funds across different programs to reduce the CO2 emissions to zero over 50 turns.
